The recent ‘Pirates of
the Caribbean’ films have helped kindle modern interest in
piracy and have succeeded quite handsomely in box office
grosses. Due to modern
piracy's status as basically robbery mixed with violence,
filmmakers do not commonly depict modern pirates in movies.
‘Pirate Master’ is a new CBS reality show which premiered on May
31, 2007. Pirate Master is about a modern day pirate crew
searching for lost treasure.
Pirates are a frequent
topic in fiction and are associated with certain stereotypical
manners of speaking and dress. Some inventions of pirate culture
such as "walking the plank" come from Peter Pan, where Captain
Hook's pirates helped define the fictional pirate archetype.
Robert Newton's portrayal of Long John Silver in Disney's 1950
film adaptation of Treasure Island also helped define the modern
rendition of a pirate.
“21st
Century Pirate” is the best reality pirate book ever written!
The author, Sean O’Reilly, is a real life modern day ‘Captain
Jack Sparrow’ and has written an instant classic of adventure,
drug smuggling, sailing the open seas, greed, murderers, D.E.A.,
Key West, Hippies, Blokes, Sailors, Seaworthy vessels,
Hurricanes, Money, Loot, a Colt Python .357 Magnum, lawsuits,
prison, Marijuana, Hash, customs, speed-boats, the Coast Guard
and much more that will ‘Shiver your Timbers.’
In a
recent interview the author says, “Yes,
I’m a sailor. I love to sail, it gives me an incredible feeling
of freedom. In fact my crew and I loved sailing so much, we took
the long way from Jamaica to New York. Instead of heading north
from Jamaica through the Mona or Windward Passage, we steered
southeast through the Caribbean to Trinidad. It was thousands of
miles longer but hundreds of times safer because the U.S. Coast
Guard was guarding those seaways in the Mona and Windward
Passages. We’d sail and fish our way through the Caribbean and
when we got down between Trinidad and Grenada, we’d shoot out
into the Atlantic Ocean. Then we’d sail hundreds of miles east
before we turned north towards New York. This way, we never
looked like we were headed directly to the US. from Jamaica when
the Coast Guard and Air Force drug interdiction planes flew over
us. In the northern Caribbean we were constantly buzzed by these
planes. Life at Sea refreshed me spiritually. We packed the boat
with books and caught up on our reading. Fishing in the
Caribbean was excellent and we always had fresh fish to eat. We
dragged a yellow feather lure everywhere we went and
occasionally we hooked into some sea monsters. At night we were
pelted with flying fish that landed on deck. If they were big
enough, we ate them for breakfast. We never carried alcohol
onboard because we didn’t want to get sloppy, but we always had
plenty of fresh Jamaican Pot to smoke.”
“21st
Century Pirate” is a true story and a wild ride from the author’s
early hippie days on the island of Key West and south Florida to
Jamaica and the islands of the Caribbean. The book sail’s you
through the Atlantic from South America to the posh suburbs of
New York’s Long Island and across the ocean to Europe with the
Buccaneers who run the blockade against the Marijuana where “21st
Century Pirate” hits an even better stride. The book's sails are
full and on the mark unveiling the conspiracy against Marijuana.
In “21st Century Pirate,” hypocrisy and the
Phony Drug Wars are all exposed. Plus you'll learn and get a
history on Marijuana that "Cheech
and Chong" never
taught us. Did you know that
Marijuana/Hemp was this 'planet's largest agriculture crop and
most important industry, involving thousands of products and
businesses' ? Hemp was used to produce the overall majority of
earth's fiber, fabric, lighting oil, paper and medicines'.
When
asked why readers and pirate fans should buy his book the author
simply states, "People
should buy this book because it’s a true story that’s more
exciting than a lot of fiction that’s out there. As an added
bonus they’ll get an environmental tale hidden inside a
smuggling story."
“21st
Century Pirate” by Sean O’Reilly is true treasure. If you do not
buy this book today ‘ye yellow bellied, lily-livered landlubber"

plank. “21st Century Pirate” is a 10 “Yo
