Accidentally Engaged by Mary Carter is
'engaging' and entertaining!
There is nothing 'accidental' about a good entertaining book and
this is very true for
'Accidentally Engaged' (ISBN-10: 0758215398 ) by Mary Carter. What
would you do if you found a diamond ring with no one to claim it?
Would you put an ad in the newspaper asking for a reward or keep it?
Clair Ivars is a psychic. She believes that people's fortunes can be
read from Tarot cards. Rachel, a bride-to-be, at a local fair, gets
her fortune read by Clair, except Clair gives her a false reading
and Rachel leaves behind a three-carat engagement ring on the table.
Clair who's been married three times has given up on men. Finding
the engagement ring with a note to return it to Jack, Clair sets out
to do exactly that. What should be a simple thing turns complex when
she meets Mike along the way and her feelings go haywire when she
finds herself in the middle of two men and a family surrounded by
mysteries.
Asked about her original plot choice the author said in a recent
interview, "I have always had an interest in psychic phenomena,
and a basic knowledge of Tarot cards which I supplemented with
research. I actually used to read fortunes with stones but that's
another story. I always try to write about something that interests
and excites me, a world I want to spend the next year of my life
in!"
'Accidentally Engaged' is a fun and outrageous romance that is
'engaging' and entertaining. This is a great read for anyone,
especially romance lovers, who enjoy a passionate and funny story.
The author discusses her main character, "When the book opens,
Clair is experiencing burn out. It happens in all professions, and
she still has a love of reading cards, but she's frustrated with the
limitations therein, and she's starting to feel the weight of other
people's desperation to save them with her readings."
Tarot reader Clair "stumbles in blissful ignorance from one disaster
to the next." Accidentally Engaged, is a humorous and intelligently
funny. The plot is strong and the characters are very well
developed. 'Accidentally Engaged' is original and hilarious.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Mary Carter is a freelance writer
and certified American
Sign Language interpreter. She’s a graduate of the
American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and Rochester
Institute of Technology/NTID. Her first novel, SHE’LL
TAKE IT, has also been published by Little Black
Dress in the UK, and will be followed by publishing
houses in Korea, Germany, and Indonesia. Her second
novel, ACCIDENTALLY ENGAGED, was also picked up
in the UK, Korea, Brazil and Germany. “She’ll Take It”
was optioned by Paramount Pictures for a weekly
television series, and although the deal did not work
out, discussion is underway for optioning it as a
