Ecumensus: The Next Vision is thought provoking
and intelligently written spiritual journey.
In Ecumensus: The Next Vision, author
Clifford Lane Mark asks us to
expand our thoughts philosophically and spiritually. Ecumensus: The
Next Vision is a work of fiction but one must understand the
author's story to fully appreciate his new literary achievement.
At age sixteen Clifford Lane Marks priest could not answer his
spiritual questions but the priest encouraged him to seek elsewhere.
For forty years the author has continued in his spiritual search and
Ecumensus: The Next Vision is the result of his search.
The author self defines Ecumensus as "a vision of World-Wide
unity that aligns itself with that which I envision as our ultimate
future. I hope the word, and the novel, inspires us to embrace it."
The title is the thread of open minded thought and
'no-limitations' that the author uses to tell his tale.
Ecumensus: The Next Vision is written as "a parable of sorts and
parables can be understood on numerous levels. It can simply be a
story or it can be more than a story. I tried to write with a
grounded imagination – not too flighty and not too grounded."
Ecumensus: The Next Vision is thought provoking and intelligently
written spiritual journey. In a recent interview the author points
out that his novel is "a quest story about seven ordinary people
who strive to find the next spiritual framework upon which they can
fashion and create their destiny. It becomes an empowering and
logical discovery of their ultimate identity as beings that are
larger than the limits they've been taught to accept about
themselves. Our religions, in almost every case, are the most
prominent purveyors of individual limits. The story line of
Ecumensus is quite unique, I think. It’s captivating and carries the
reader along pretty well like a good parable should. But the
messages and understandings uncovered in the story are being told in
one way or another by more and more people every day. In that sense
it is both different from what is already out there and it is
similar to the visions being told by so many wonderful people too
numerous to name."
Ecumensus: The Next Vision is recommended as an intelligent thought
provoking literary walk.
