About the Books:
The Stone Messiahs - Book One - A Child of Two Worlds
For millennia the
Terracan have merged with the sky stones, travelling their
mysterious paths, searching for the Dreaming Stone and the
path back to those who sent them, the alien Cad a Hoi. Then
hope comes with the birth of the twin Messiahs. Soon the
Terracan's guiding Prophecy will be borne out and the
Dreaming Stone’s whereabouts known. But, King Vicehorn,
believing his empire threatened, pursues the Terracan
mercilessly. He attacks their northern settlement and the
Messiahs, Dillapan and Tontith, accompanied by the
beautiful, enigmatic Coonishinook and her fire brother,
Teeka, flee into the unknown and an adventure in which they
encounter strange lands, fantastic cities and fabulous
creatures. Their lives, loves and loyalties will be torn and
tested before the ancient Prophecy leads them to an
unbearable truth, the solution of which lies 60,000 years in
the future.
The Stone
Messiahs - Book Two - The Circle
Book two picks up
the story in the troubled, ice‑ravaged world of 2536. All
memory of the Terracan is gone, lost even to the oldest of
legends. Only those known as the Four survive the
intervening millennia, thrown across an ocean of time to
continue their search to find the Dreaming Stone. Though the
age of the stones is past, still the Prophecy acts to aid
the Four. The Dream had ruined the life of the 16th Baron
Moncrieff, his foolhardy forays into the mountains all but
killing him. Stories of madness in the family were still
rife when the Baron’s dream passed to his grandson. But he
had seen the damage it could do and knew better than to
speak of it. In secret Thomas Moncrieff begins to seek
answers to the mystery. With the aid of his friend, Lumpy,
he searches for the two warriors locked in a stone. He has
read his grandfather’s journal and the Prophecy it contained
and begins to see the first glimmering of an awful truth.
Then a strange young girl appears, naked and lost, the
mysterious Coonishinook. Now there can be no mistaking the
Prophecy’s reality and once more the race to find Cahoia
begins in earnest. But Moncrieff is a rich and powerful man
and there are those determined to destroy him. Suddenly, the
search for Cahoia is enmeshed in the power struggles of huge
corporations and rapidly becomes a fight to save the earth
from destruction. The Terracan, Vicehorn, the Tel bi Ree are
all gone, fallen to dust. Only those known as the Four
survive the 60 forgotten millennia, thrown across an ocean
of time to find the Dreaming Stone and open the path back to
the stone builders, the Cad a Hoi. But would those who
inherited the quest understand it? The Baron Moncrieff
thought he did but it robbed him of his reputation, health
and finally his life. It led him to ever more desperate
treks into the high places of the world, searching for "The
bright shining hills". But no one believed his mystic
ramblings and within a few years of his last journey he was
dead. Now the dream passed to his grandson, Thomas. He too
would begin to seek answers to the mystery. With the aid of
his friend, Lumpy, he would search in secret for the two
warriors locked in a stone. He had read the Prophecy and
seen the first glimmers of its truth. So armed only with his
love of the old man and the need to understand his own dream
he too would keep faith and await the Messiahs.
The author
discusses these epic books and why he broke one plot into
two novels, “The Stone Messiahs was originally to be a
single novel but it grew and I knew that a very large book
would never be considered by either an agent or publisher so
I split it… I exaggerate; in fact the two books combined
weigh in at a mere 700 pages. I had to write the two books
together as I’ve found I can’t work until I know exactly
where I want to end up. This applies to individual chapters
as much as the whole story. It doesn’t matter that I might
not know quite how to get where I’m going, after all that’s
what writing is about, letting your tail grow, which,
believe me, can be as painful as it sounds”

author and his books are fun, imaginative and unique.
