"Lest Ye Be Judged" is a spectacular and thrilling page turning mystery about the theological and political turmoil involving the Episcopal Church.

David C. Trimble, author of "Lest Ye Be Judged",(ISBN-10: 0595429890) has written a spectacular and thrilling page turning mystery about the theological and political turmoil involving the Episcopal Church. Trimble, in a cross between a John Grisham court room thriller and "The Davinci Code" has established himself with a fresh and original novel of power, church, history, politics and murder.

"Lest Be Judged" is compelling and well written. Dunstan Mitchell, a liberal Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of Central Kentucky, has been pushing a liberal theology for the church which includes ordination of gay clergy and same sex-marriages. He has offended the conservatives and is a liability to the church. Dunstan Mitchell's body is soon found dead in a swimming pool opening up a standard 'who done it' plot.

"Lest Be Judged" is solid. The writing and style is unique and the author is brave to tackle such a controversial subject matter with grace and honor. The death of the Bishop leads to many suspects that ends with a satisfying and surprising ending. History plays an important ingredient for the plot and is very well done.

David C.Trimble is an attorney and litigator in private practice in Lexington, Kentucky. The author's legal profession adds to the legal insights and forensic details. "Lest Be Judged" is one of the best novels out this year by a first time novelist and will quickly put this author on the literary map.

In a recent Interview the author discusses his novel, "The book itself was influenced by the success of books such as The DaVinci Code and others set within the Catholic Church. While the Anglican Church and its constituent parts have not been around as long, it is still a church with a rich and fascinating history, in that it was the religion carried to the four corners of the world by English explorers in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. With the current controversies which threaten to tear the church apart, the existence of conflict was readily present, and it offered a compelling backdrop against which to create a fictional murder mystery. A lot of research went into LYBJ even as a work of fiction. I am convinced that good fiction must be based in fact and was determined to have the details of the case, the investigation, and the trial be as accurate as possible. I did much more detailed research into the history of the Church of England and the Episcopal Church to be able to use it in background and scene-setting. Some of the character names are references to historical figures in the church. I consulted with cradle Episcopalians and a former Episcopal priest extensively in details of literally everything you read about how the church does things. I stayed up on the current controversies by reading many, many blogs from both sides of the fight and educating myself as well as a "transplant" Methodist could on the theological differences."

"Lest Ye Be Judged" is informative and entertaining. The author obviously did his homework and as a result produced one of the best theologian murder mystery books since "The DaVinci Code". The characters are many but well assembled and used just enough to tell the story. The narrative is consistent and strong. This is a book that can be easily translated into film.

"Lest Ye Be Judged" is a heavy weight winner in a sea of mystery books that lack substance and education. After reading "Lest Ye Be Judged" I can't wait to see what the author has planned for the future.
