Preserved
to Serve (ISBN:1434378039) by Claire Power Murphy is a
semi-autobiographical story of faith and hope. As the
author says in her introduction, "The author's life has been one
of research which has resulted in discovering that the life is in
the blood and that disease may be eliminated and health enhanced by
improving the quality of one's diet...It is the author's intention
to offer hope to a lost and dying world."
Claire Murphy's first child, Charlie, was born normal but by age
five he had fevers, was pale and bleeding internally. Claire was
told he would not live past nineteen. At the age of eight he had an
accident and fell twenty feet onto concrete breaking his leg. Claire
had just buried her husband, father and mother and now was very
afraid of her child's health and safety.
To give you an idea of what Preserved to Serve and Claire Murphy is
all about is simply seen when her son is in the hospital with a
broken bone. He had an itch which is common among broken bone
patients and no hospital salves were working. Claire, astute and
resourceful, suggested to the hospital staff to use aloe and
vegetable pulp and they agreed but responded "We can't even put it
on the chart."
"I thought of all the people suffering similar problems
who might be helped."
As a single mother and widow, Claire found a new male friend Bill
who adapted to her vegetarian lifestyle and the two had a child
together, a girl, Laurie. Laurie was two days post-term. It was a
long labor requiring intervention. Laurie had meconium staining and
her limbs were lifeless. The baby survived but her limbs were so
fragile she would cry when Claire would change her clothes.
Resourceful Claire produced well-strained, warm, chamomile tea
and/or pure Irish sea moss which calmed the small child. Mustard
plasters, camphor liniment, massages, and infant enemas also
produced a happier, calmer baby.
Now Claire is contacted and informed by social workers that "We're
coming to get your baby!"
Chapter Seven: "As of two minutes ago, Your Baby is not your
baby. She belongs to the state."
Claire Murphy's nightmare has just begun. Now it was nurse, doctors,
social workers, family court, subpoena's, threats of jail, evidence
and lawyers. Claire and Bill were brought up on seven counts of
child neglect and found guilty of one - Improper Medical
supervision. Laurie was placed in a foster home.
Preserved to Serve is about the system, being diligent and faith in
God. Preserved to Serve is informative in a hundred different ways.
It is a book for you, me and anyone that can understand that "The
Life is In the Blood! - The purpose of the blood is to carry water,
nutrients, and oxygen to all parts of the body."
In a an interview Claire Murphy said, "Preserved to Serve was
extremely difficult to write because many painful experiences needed
to be recalled in exact detail so as to specifically delineate the
comparison between utilization of God's natural therapy and man's
medicine. The blessing has occurred since stepping out to help
others. Claire actually helped herself leaving painful memories
behind. She is now moving on with her life and is more free to help
others."
Preserved to Serve by Claire Power Murphy is true adventure of one
woman's struggles to stand firm in her beliefs and knowledge. I
guaranteed you will read this book on the edge of your seat and then
find yourself seating back taking in some of Claire's natural wisdom
that may help in your life but be prepared to be back on the edge of
your seat again. Preserved to Serve is a genuine and sincere story
of one American women's testament that God and "Christ is the
true head of the medical profession." This is MUST addition your
library to read over and over again and share the story that is and
was Claire Murphy's life.
